ABORN'S GOT OVER $1M CASH TO SPEND

Dear Lucas:

All three campaigns for District Attorney have now released information on their July fundraising totals - and the results are truly shocking. Despite entering the race four years after one candidate and two years after another, Richard is in a virtual tie with over $1.1 million in cash-on-hand to spend.

But don't just take our word for it.

In the
New York Law Journal  today, two prominent observers expressed how impressed they were by Richard's showing: "Maurice Carroll, the head of Quinnipiac University Policy Institute, said the race is up for grabs. He added that he was surprised by Mr. Aborn's strong fundraising figures...Like Mr. Carroll, Mr. Skurnik agreed that Mr. Aborn "has been the surprise" candidate, both in terms of the endorsements he has received and the amount of money he has raised."

And also today, the
New York Post  published a piece about the potential strength of Richard's field operation to get out the vote: "The [Working Families Party] can provide Aborn with a field operation, which none of the other candidates have," said CUNY political scientist Doug Muzzio. "That could make the difference."

This is a testament to the way New Yorkers are responding to Richard's vision of a progressive and effective District Attorney's office -- one that continues to respond to violent crime while shifting to a proactive model of preventing non-violent crime. Richard's experience prosecuting violent crime, standing up to the NRA and managing a large law firm give him the tools to get it done.

We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to change the criminal justice system with this election, and it's our job to seize it. Will you help us get Richard's message out to every voter in Manhattan?

On July 29, Katrina vanden Heuvel and Isabella Rossellini are headlining a major event to support the campaign. Click

We also still need people to help us move Richard's message on the ground. Please sign up to volunteer at

As always, if you have any thoughts about the race, please feel free to email me at

Thanks again for all you are doing to help us seize this opportunity -- and win on September 15th.
