WANNA GO TO YALE?

Yale is looking for a few good moot court judges.

Here's the text of an announcement we just received:

On behalf of the Yale Mock Trial Association (YMTA) it is my pleasure to invite you to Yale University to judge at the 2009 American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) Regional Tournament in New Haven to be held Saturday and Sunday, February 14-15, 2009, on the beautiful Yale campus.  This regional competition is one of dozens around the country that serve as the qualifying competitions for the AMTA National Tournament and National Championship Tournaments, to be held in March and April respectively.

Judging is a great opportunity to earn Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit.  For the eighth consecutive year, the Yale Mock Trial Association has been accredited the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) and the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) to offer CLE credit to all attorneys who judge at one of our tournaments.

The success of this and all our tournaments depends on the generosity of legal professionals such as yourself who donate their time and energy each year.  Many of the tournament participants plan to attend law school in the future, and the amount they learn depends on adjudication by legal professionals from a wide variety of fields.  This year, the rounds will be as follows:

Saturday, February 14, 2009

10:00-10:30 am          Judging Orientation

10:30-1:30 pm            Round 1

9:00-12:00 pm            Round 3

1:30-2:00 pm              Judging Orientation

2:00-5:00 pm              Round 4

If any of these times work for you, then please register on our website as soon as possible:

https://ymta.wufoo.com/forms/elm-city-regional-judging-registration/

Complimentary food will be provided to judges before each round at the Judging Orientation. These orientations will ALL be held in Linsly-Chittendon Hall, the address of which is 63 High Street; New Haven, CT 06511.

If you have questions not answered on our website, please do not hesitate to contact us.  Also, if you know any other attorneys who would be interested in judging, please pass this information along.  The Yale Mock Trial Association depends on the generosity of volunteers like you for the success of this event, and we would greatly appreciate any help you could provide.

Thank you in advance,

Kyle J. Skinner
