In Ostrowski v. City of New York , Bogdan Ostrowski wanted to force the City of New York to reinstate his pistol license and rifle/shotgun permit.
When the New York County Supreme Court denied his request, Ostrowski appealed to the Appellate Division, First Department.
The AD1 thought the City's decision was rational given Ostrowski had previously been arrested, had orders of protection issued against him, and, had violated those orders. He also failed to report those incidents to the City's License Division -- despite an obligation to do so. (According to the AD1, those lapses cast doubt on Ostrowski's character and fitness to possess a firearm.)
That certainly bogged Bogdan.
