Here's an event announcement issued by JCorps :
From the organization's website:
Thousands of volunteers, from over 150 colleges and universities, over 400 companies, and from countries all over the world have made a difference with JCorps.
JCorps helps Jewish young adults connect and contribute to their communities. We pair diverse and dynamic groups of volunteers with organizations in their neighborhood.
We help feed the hungry in soup kitchens and food banks, entertain and comfort the lonely in senior centers and hospitals, mentor and inspire the young with tutoring and sporting events, and help our cities bloom with urban renewal organizations.
Volunteers must be between the ages of 18 and 28. We do not discriminate based on religious denomination, gender, or background.
We aim to have two Team Leaders at every school and congregation in NYC who are responsible for recruiting volunteers from their community. JCorps provides Team Leaders with training and materials.
Most of our volunteer opportunities take place on Sundays to avoid conflicts with volunteers' work or school obligations.
To ensure all volunteers can participate in each event, we avoid events which might conflict with a volunteer's Sabbath or Holidays. The T-Shirt
Every JCorps team member gets a custom-sized, designer JCorps t-shirt. Area businesses may sponsor JCorps and have their logo placed on the back of the t-shirts.
Financials
