senate_group_shot_nyreblog_com_.jpgLater today, the New York State Senate is having a public hearing on "Rules Reform."

Here's the info we received, moments ago:

We are writing to invite you to join us at a public hearing on Rules Reform in the New York State Senate. The Committee has been holding hearings all around the state on reforming the Senate Rules to make the legislative process, and legislative committees in particular, more transparent and responsive, and there will be a hearing in New York City on Thursday, February 26th at 6pm.

Your presence would be a strong show of support for our efforts to change the rules to restore functionality, and we encourage all of you to attend. Also, if you would like to submit written testimony, it will be entered into the formal record of the hearing and posted on the committee's website.  http://www.senate.state.ny.us/sws/reform/index.html
