VALLONE WANTS TO "PARTY LIKE A ROCKSTAR"

Peter Vallone, Jr., is having a rock-themed fundraiser on March 19, 2009, at 6:00 PM, at Central Lounge, in Astoria, Queens.

The minimum suggested contribution of $20 makes you a "roadie."

At $100 you're a "promoter," $500 makes you a the "band manager." $1000 elevates you to a "record producer." "Rock star" status will cost you $2750.

Contributions from this event will go toward the Council Member's re-election campaign.  As you may have heard, Mayor Bloomberg and the New York City Council extended term limits for an additional term.  As a result of this, and because Council Member Peter F. Vallone Jr will not run against his friend, the incumbent Queens Borough President Helen Marshall, he has suspended his anticipated Queens Borough President campaign until 2013.  The good news is he is privileged to run for a third and final term for the position for City Council Member, which he has been honored to hold for the past seven years.  As Public Safety Chair of the New York City Council, he wrote tough new laws to help keep our streets safe from criminal activity ranging from violent crime to graffiti, and he was the leading voice for more police protection and anti-terror funding.  He also passed measures to keep illegal guns off the streets and create tougher punishments for child abusers and sex offenders.

We appreciate your past support, and are once again asking for you to contribute to the Council Member's campaign.  The Campaign Finance Board required that the money he raised prior to 2009 be frozen, and therefore cannot be accessed for his City Council re-election campaign.  He is now starting to raise money for his re-election.  Even if you contributed to his Borough President campaign, the law allows you to contribute up to $2,750 to his City Council Campaign.  We hope you can both contribute and attend his Rockin' Birthday Party Fundraiser on March 19, 2009 at Central Lounge in Astoria.  Your personal check in any amount will help him continue to keep our neighborhoods safe as your City Council Member.  Thank you in advance for your support and we look forward to seeing you.

Please forward this email to friends!

Thank you
