The 11th Annual Peace Market event will be held on February 19th, 2009 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. This year's Honorary Chair will be Ms. Ivanka Trump . The Peace Market typically draws 1,000 affluent, young, professional New Yorkers from various industries, ethnicities and religions as well as a plethora of celebrities, elected officials, and media attention. It is hosted by the Young Leadership Committee, a dynamic group of peace- minded young professionals committed to supporting the mission of Seeds of Peace and empowering the next generation of leaders. This unique event raises critical resources and awareness to ensure that the important work of Seeds of Peace continues.
History
Through the years, the event has hosted speakers such as former President William J. Clinton, CNN Chief International Correspondent Christiane Amanpour, former Ambassador to the United Nations Richard Holbrooke and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. Musical performances have included Grammy-award winner John Legend, Hootie & the Blowfish and Barenaked Ladies. Celebrities who have shown their support by attending the event include: Robert De Niro, Edie Falco, Billy Crudup, Claire Danes, Janeane Garafalo, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Bar Refaeli, and Sam Waterston, among many others.
The Event
The Peace Market is unlike any event you will attend in New York or elsewhere in the country.
