Dear Lucas,
This Thursday at midnight will mark more than just the beginning of 2010 - it also marks a critical fundraising deadline for next year's campaign, and the end of our third annual Pasty Pie Challenge.
You can help our team ring in the New Year and build momentum for the 2010 election by making a contribution of $25, $50, $100 or whatever you can afford. Anyone who donates before the ball drops in Times Square will automatically be entered for a chance to have me come to your home and cook a traditional pasty pie for your entire family.
During the past year I fought every single day to help turn Michigan's economy around. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has already created nearly 20,000 new jobs for Michigan teachers, police officers, students and construction workers. I also helped pass legislation this year that will spur investments in clean energy technology to create jobs, repair our crumbling infrastructure with Michigan workers, fix our broken health care system, and end Wall Street bailouts.
It was certainly a busy year, but we still have a long way to go to get our economy back on track. Will you help make sure that I can keep fighting for the citizens of Michigan by making an immediate donation of $25, $50, $100 or whatever you can afford?
The Republicans have already made me one of their top targets for 2010. RNC Chairman Michael Steele recently told an audience in West Michigan, "Mr. Schauer, we're coming for you, baby!" That's why it's so imperative for me to finish 2009 with a strong fundraising quarter - and I can only do that with your help.
Thanks for your continued support!
Sincerely,
Mark Schauer
Member of Congress
Michigan, District 7
P.S. Remember, time is running out for the Pasty Pie Challenge. If you'd like a chance for me to come to your home to cook a pasty pie, please make your contribution by midnight on New Year's Eve.
