On Saturday, December 12, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and a team of 200 volunteers will greet more than 3,000 children from shelters and low-income public housing throughout Brooklyn for the Best of Brooklyn annual holiday spectacular at the Christian Cultural Center.

This year's entertaining stage show includes a spoof on the classic "Christmas Carol" featuring the two famous Christmas villains, Scrooge and the Grinch; the dance and step teams the Nubian Gents and the Flames; the Brooklyn Ballet with a scene from "The Nutcracker"; the dance and percussion of The Street Beats; the Fool's Academy team with acrobatics, stilts performance and juggling; and the choir from the Middle School of the Arts in East New York.

Following the program, each child will select a new toy and new book from the gift rooms. The toys and books have been generously contributed by great corporate citizens and toy drives across the borough.
