 yassky_eheader_nyreblog_com_.jpg nyt_endorses_yassky_nyreblog_com_.jpgDear Lucas,
I'm excited to let you know that The New York Times endorsed David Yassky for New York City Comptroller this morning. This comes on the heels of Sunday's endorsement by Crain's New York Business. We clearly have the momentum and are poised to win this race.
Read the full New York Times endorsement here. Read the full Crain's endorsement here.  Help spread the word and send this to five friends. Please contribute $50, $100, or $175 today. With the August 31st matching funds deadline fast approaching, your contribution can make a significant difference.
The Times was "particularly impressed with Mr. Yassky's ability to think creatively and then implement his ideas." The progressive ideas and accomplishments they cited in making the endorsement included affordable housing, small business development, green taxis, gun control, government transparency, and cleaning up our City's waterways.
Calling David the candidate, "most suited to do the job, with skill, intelligence and independence," The Times' endorsement gives David momentum as we head into the final three weeks of the campaign. It's a perfect guide for the thousands of voters who remain undecided at this crucial juncture.
"Mr. Yassky makes the best case for making better use of the powerful tools handed a city comptroller." The Times looks to David to stand up to special interests and promote integrity, efficiency, and productivity in City government.

Crain's wrote that "David Yassky is the best candidate to meet the challenges ahead," and that his understanding of the economic issues our City faces distinguishes him from the field.

David Yassky is the candidate for Comptroller best prepared to help turn our City's economy around and root out wasteful spending. His integrity, record of results, and progressive vision for the Comptroller's Office is being embraced by major newspapers and voters across the City.

Thank you for all you have done so far, and for your help in the final three weeks.

Sincerely,

Danny Kanner
Communications Director
