JUDITH KAYE JOINS AAA

kaye_court_of_appeals_nyreblog_com_.gifThe American Arbitration Association (AAA) is very pleased to announce that the Honorable Judith S. Kaye has joined the AAA's National Roster of Arbitrators. Judge Kaye recently retired from fifteen years of service as the Chief Judge of the New York Court of Appeals, the longest serving Chief Judge in the history of New York's highest court. 

Before assuming the Chief Judge's mantle, she was an Associate Judge on the Court. She also litigated in private practice as a partner at Olwine Connelly handling cases involving tax, merger, bankruptcy, and insurance issues. While fulfilling her responsibilities on the court, Judge Kaye published over 100 articles and is a well-known and sought-after public speaker for legal and business audiences.

Today, Judge Kaye remains an active and vibrant member of New York's legal community hearing cases for the AAA and acting Of Counsel to Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. She said rec ently "I am happy to be able to draw upon my experience as a judge when I arbitrate cases. I believe the broad scope of cases that came before the Court of Appeals has given me unique experience and perspective." 

The American Arbitration Association is also pleased to welcome Judge Kaye to its Board of Directors where she will assist in the governance of the not-for-profit, the world's largest dispute resolution service provider.
