YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS

j0438797.jpgIn Crespo v. Aparicio , Jose Crespo and Adonis Segovia sued Pablo Aparicio for injuries incurred in a car accident.

Finding their claims didn't meet a statutory threshold as to "seriousness," the Suffolk County Supreme Court dismissed the case.

On appeal, the Appellate Division, Second Department, thought the plaintiffs' treating physician established Crespo and Segovia suffered from permanent spinal injuries which were "serious" enough to warrant a formal hearing or trial.

That was pretty weighty.
