In Harris v. Kahn, Hoffman, Nonenmacher, & Hochman, LLP , Robert Harris sued his accounting firm -- Kahn, Hoffman, Nonenmacher, & Hochman, LLP (Kahn) -- for alleged malpractice.
Although the parties had an accountant-client relationship, the Rockland County Supreme Court granted Kahn's request to dismiss the case because the claims were "time-barred."
Since Harris had only a three-year period within which he could file a accounting malpractice lawsuit, and apparently missed that window, the Appellate Division, Second Department, affirmed the case's dismissal.
Try accounting for that.
