O'DONNELL GOES FOR ABORN

Here's the text of an e-mail we received from the Aborn campaign:

I wanted to make sure you knew the exciting news - Upper West Side Assembly Member Daniel O'Donnell is the first elected official to endorse in the DA's race - and he endorsed Richard!

Please see the Daily News blog post here for more information.

The endorsement comes on the heels of Bill Bratton's endorsement late last week and is a sign of the momentum Richard is gaining the race.

O'Donnell, the first openly gay man elected to the Assembly, had this to say about Richard:

"When it comes to which person will crack down on crime while protecting civil liberties and defending progressive values, there is no one more qualified for Manhattan D.A. than Richard Aborn."

"Whether it's taking on the NRA on guns, investigating police misconduct, or ensuring equal access to justice, Richard has shown he never backs down from a fight. He will bring his deep commitment to justice to the office of District Attorney."

As Liz Benjamin - one of the top political reporters around - notes in her post, Richard came to the race later than his opponents, but was the fundraising leader at the last filing deadline and has been racking up key endorsements.

I look forward to sharing more good news with you soon. Until then, please feel free to email me about the race and please consider contributing at www.abornforda.com.

Sincerely,

Mike
