Get ready for another evening to remember from the people who brought you three fabulous years of D.R.E.a.M.S. (Diabetes Research Elegance and Modern Sophistication) in the City! 

Join us on Thursday, May 7, 2009, for the fourth annual D.R.E.a.M.S. in the City. Once again, the event promises fine wines, classic cocktails, luscious food, and a luxury silent auction; this year in a very cool new venue, Capitale, in lower Manhattan.

D.R.E.a.M.S. will be emceed by actor Richard Kind , co-star of Spin City and Mad About You, and many other stellar roles in television, stage, and film.  Honored guest and recipient of the Dare to Dream award is women's fashion designer Naeem Khan , whose stunning work has been featured in Glamour; People; In Style and O, the Oprah Magazine, and who has designed for Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, and Queen Noor of Jordan.  Mr. Khan has a deep connection to diabetes, having witnessed firsthand the devastating effects diabetes can have on a beloved family member. 

Michel Nischan , renowned chef and award-winning cookbook author, is a "dreamy" addition to our Honorary Committee.  Mr. Nischan continues to raise the bar for delicious and healthful cooking, most prominently as co-owner (with the late Paul Newman,) of Dressing Room, a Homegrown Restaurant, in Westport, Connecticut.

Co-chairs Samantha Shanken Baker, Elizabeth Beskin, Bonnie Inserra and Risa Pulver hope that you will join them for another fabulous iteration of D.R.E.a.M.S.  Event co-founders Risa and Samantha will receive the Founders' Award for their dedication and commitment to D.R.E.a.M.S. in the City and to the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation.
