Our Annual Fall Fundraising Gala is a black-tie dinner dance that provides an opportunity to enjoy a great evening with friends or family, while helping the community.
On Thursday, November 13, the Visiting Nurse Service of New York will hold its 2008 Benefit Dinner, "Investing in Children, Strengthening Families," at the Waldorf - Astoria.
During the event, we will present the Lillian D. Wald Award to Mary Pat Gallagher, MD, of the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons; Leon Root, MD, of the Hospital for Special Surgery and Weill Cornell Medical College; and Steven P. Shelov, MD, MS, of Maimonides Infants and Children's Hospital of Brooklyn, Lutheran Medical Center and SUNY Downstate School of Medicine. The award, named after the public health pioneer and founder of VNSNY, is presented in recognition of individuals who have made significant contributions to the health and welfare of New Yorkers.
Proceeds support our Children and Family Services programs, which provide direct care and specialized support services to almost 10,000 children and their families, making it one of the largest programs of its kind in New York. Every dollar raised helps VNSNY fulfill our commitment to the most vulnerable, socially at-risk, chronically ill and disabled children, young parents and families.
