We received this invitation from Jim Capalino (Chief Executive Officer of Capalino + Company ):
Dear Lucas,
I write to ask for your attendance at a July 23 fundraiser for Daniel Johnson, a decorated former U.S. Navy officer who is seeking North Carolina's 10th Congressional seat. My son, Reid, has organized this event (for which details are below), and we would be honored if you would join us in helping this campaign.
Daniel is challenging a Republican incumbent in what is arguably North Carolina's most conservative district, an area that extends from the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Tennessee and South Carolina borders. This district has little of the on-the-ground progressive organizing that is central to upstart Democratic campaigns here in New York. Undeterred by these odds, Daniel has already attracted impressive support. We hope this fundraiser will provide him with additional resources to mobilize voters.
Please see our invitation below, to which you can RSVP here . If you cannot join us, please consider donating to Daniel's campaign in any amount you can.
I hope you to see you on July 23.
Best regards,
Jim Capalino

About Daniel Johnson
Daniel is the Democratic nominee for the United States House of Representatives from North Carolina's 10th District. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Daniel began his service as an officer in the United States Navy. While serving aboard the U.S.S. Blue Ridge near South Korea, Daniel risked his own life to save a fellow serviceman. Daniel and the sailor survived, but Daniel lost both of his legs below the knee. For his bravery, Daniel received the Navy and Marine Corps Medal, the highest peacetime medal for heroism. After recovering at Walter Reed, Daniel began his post-Naval career as an aide to Georgia Senator Max Cleland. Daniel then graduated from the UNC School of Law and served the state of North Carolina as an assistant district attorney. Daniel lives with his wife, Creecy, and young daughter, Bowen, in his hometown of Hickory, North Carolina.
