It ain't everyday that I receive an invitation from royalty but, a few days ago, I received a virtually illegible invitation from HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein (wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum , Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai), to attend a black tie -- or national dress -- event on Friday, December 12, 2008, at the Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai .
Entitled "Cinema Against Aids Dubai 2008," the event is chaired by Abdul Majid Al Fahim, Kenneth Cole, Goldie Hawn, Salma Hayek, Laura Linney, and Patrick Normand.
Ticket prices start at $2000 (exclusive of travel/lodging costs).
Proceeds to benefit AMFAR , The Foundation For Aids Research.
