A reader forwarded a pretty inane "puff piece" on Boca Raton Community Hospital -- a Florida medical institution featured in the March/April 2008 edition of a periodical called "Healthy Living."
In that issue, the Hospital proudly notes that prior to every procedure, the members of its surgical teams will go out of their way to ensure they've got the right patient and that they're performing the correct procedure on the appropriate body part. (What a relief!)
While the Hospital claims it performed some 10,000 in-patient and out-patient surgeries in 2007, we're guessing -- based on the article's silence -- that the Hospital 's success rate was under 100%. Interesting, no?
Check it out!
