With little fanfare, New York City Civil Court Judge Arthur Birnbaum--who was re-elected from the 9th Civil Court District (Manhattan) just two months ago--resigned from the post in December. (He had been assigned to the Bronx Criminal Court.)
Sources advise that Birnbaum is returning to the private practice of law.
