Micah Kellner is a grass roots community activist and public servant who has been a Member of the Democratic State Committee for the 65th Assembly District since 2004.  As the State Committeeman, he has represented more than 45,000 Democrats in the district.  He is a member of the State Committee's Reform Caucus and has used his position as a platform to advocate for issues like affordable housing, increased accountability and transparency of government authorities and corporations like the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation, and the rights of people with disabilities.
Kellner has worked for Democratic elected officials and candidates in Manhattan since moving to New York City to attend college. As an undergraduate, he became an intern on the staff of Senator Chuck Schumer, an experience which inspired him to make his career in public service. He moved to Manhattan's Upper East Side, working for Assemblymember Jonathan Bing and Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, becoming deeply involved in the political and civic life of the community, and continuing his activism in the disabled community and in the local Democratic Party. He currently serves on the staff of New York City Comptroller Bill Thompson.

Kellner grew up in New Jersey. While an infant, he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and underwent numerous operations and years of physical therapy. He is a member of the East Side Democratic Club, the East 79th Street Neighborhood Association, the Disabilities Network of New York City, and the 504 Democratic Club, which presented him with its Sandra Schnurr "Rising Political Star" award in 2005. A graduate of New York University, he lives in Yorkville with his girlfriend.
