The ATLANTA AFTER DARK FILM FESTIVAL showcases content “reserved for a mature audience.” To that end, they screen indie short films that touch on an array of genres, such as dark animation, dark comedy, dark science fiction, horror, horror comedy, suspense, and thrillers.

Their fourth annual event was held on Feb 11, 2024, at the Plaza Theatre, in Northeast Atlanta. And we’re pleased to announce that TAPIOCA — a short written and directed by 21-year-old Joshua Morgan — was selected as the year’s BEST DARK COMEDY!

In this story, two senior citizens — from opposite ends of the political spectrum — share a semi-private room in an assisted living facility and end up joining forces to protect the one thing they both love ….
