ILLINOIS COPS PLEAD GUILTY TO CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATIONS

USED “UNREASONABLE FORCE” AGAINST TWO JUVENILE DETAINEES

While two kids were being detained by the East St Louis, Illinois, Police Department, an officer, JB (51), in the presence of his supervisor, VA (61), is said to have entered a holding cell where one of the minors were sleeping and pepper sprayed him. JB then entered a second cell and then proceeded to pepper spray the other minor.

In both instances his colleagues did nothing to stop him despite a duty to intervene in an unreasonable use of force situation.

On April 11, 2024, JB pleaded guilty to “two misdemeanor civil rights violations for his use of unreasonable force,” while VA pleaded guilty to “two misdemeanor civil rights violations for his failure to intervene.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 23, 2024.

Those officers should have subscribed to “say it, don’t spray it.”
