FORMER VICE COP OPERATED A PROSTITUTION RING IN TWO STATES

HIT WITH 33 MONTHS FOR PROMOTING “COMMERCIAL SEXUAL SERVICE”

A retired San Diego police officer, who was also a former vice detective, attorney and private investigator, was sentenced in mid-October to 33 months in prison (and a year of supervised release) for operating five “illicit massage businesses.”

For about nine years, PG (79), along with three female cohorts, operated “Genie Oriental Spa,” “Felicita Spa,” “Blue Green Spa,” “Maple Spa” and “Massage W Spa,” which were situated in Tempe, Arizona, and the greater San Diego area. In addition to advertising “commercial sexual services online,” PG and his partners recruited and exploited women who engaged in “commercial sexual services” at these facilities.

In a written statement, Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, noted that “Defendant [PG] – a former vice detective who once took an oath to uphold our laws – is being held accountable for abusing his position of authority and, with his co-defendants, operating illicit massage businesses and profiting by exploiting women for commercial sex … This case is an example of how strong partnerships among law enforcement agencies can combat the illicit massage industry. The Justice Department will continue to prosecute those who callously prey on the most vulnerable members of our society.”

There’s just no other way to massage that ….
