AFTER LAUGHTER -- a compelling new film co-written and co-directed by Adrian Burks [@adrian_burks] and Theodore Wright IV [ @_twiv], and made in association with yours truly -- will be screening at the NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA) Film Festival on August 27, 2022.

NFMLA showcases “innovative works by emerging filmmakers from around the world,” and provides “a forum where filmmakers can be recognized for their contributions, have open audience discussions about their projects and connect with industry professionals for insight on distribution, production, acquisition and representation.”

In this story, we witness the struggles of two young men as they deal not only with a dysfunctional family dynamic, but the injustices that were pervasive throughout the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Will they persevere, or end up victims of the harsh reality in which they live? You’ll have to see the film at NFMLA to find out.
