Hi Lucas,
I hope you’re enjoying Mother’s Day and taking time to thank
your mom or a maternal figure who plays an important role in your life.
I want to take the chance to express my love and gratitude for my mom,
or as you know her, Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty (don’t worry I
still got her a card!).
Next weekend, I’ll be graduating from Yale University. I know my
mom is looking forward to watching me walk across the stage, and I want
to make sure she knows I couldn’t have done it without her.
My mom taught all three of us kids the value of hard work. She impressed
upon us a sense of duty and compassion for others. My mom is the most
caring person I know.
She loves her family and her community. Representing Connecticut families
in Congress is one of the biggest honors of her life. I know my mom counts
on your support, so I would like to thank you for all you do for her.
