In 2017, we faced a lot of challenges. Now that we’ve had time to process it all, I think there are a lot of reasons to be hopeful for the future.
One of the most compelling reasons is the outpouring of activism we saw and continue to see springing up all over the country. Large swaths of Americans from different backgrounds and of all political stripes came together to send a message to Washington.
Americans made it clear they want leaders who will work together to solve problems -- not tear each other down.
I think the tide has begun to turn in favor of bipartisanship, common decency, and competence. The grassroots support we received this month is proof that people haven’t given up. Not even close.
