Five years ago, President Obama said the following about keeping Title
IX guidelines strong: “We have come so far. But there’s so
much farther we can go. There are always more barriers we can break and
more progress we can make.”
He took critical steps forward to address gender inequality and sexual
violence on college campuses.
Now, Betsy DeVos and the Trump Administration are threatening to walk
that progress back.
I’m not going to let them. Rush in what you can and help me safeguard
the progress we fought so hard to achieve.
The Trump Administration will stop at nothing to tarnish Obama’s
legacy and end the initiatives he supported. They’ll even jeopardize
our progress and weaken necessary protections to do so.
We need to do everything in our power to ensure that schools and institutions
of higher learning are conducive to learning, not discrimination or violence.
Don’t let Title IX guidelines be watered down and weakened. Give
$5 or $10 and help Democrats defend our progress.
