Lucas, fear of deportation is stopping undocumented immigrants from reporting
domestic violence and
seeking life-saving services like food programs to help feed families. No one
should suffer hunger or abuse because they are worried about their family
being torn apart.
A 2011 memo from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) directed
ICE officers to avoid immigration enforcement at locations like schools,
hospitals and places of worship. But we can't rely on the Trump administration
to honor that memo.
Sign the petition to Congress: Stop ICE raids on schools, hospitals, courthouses,
and places of worship. Pass the P rotecting Sensitive Locations Act!
The 2011 ICE memo is insufficient to protect sensitive locations and keep
families safe, because Trump could overturn it at any time. We need Congress
to pass a law, so that safe spaces for undocumented immigrants are guaranteed
protection from the whims of an xenophobic egomaniac.
The Protecting Sensitive Locations Act will uphold ICE's current sensitive
locations policy and expand it to include more safe spaces where immigrants
can access important services, medical care, handle legal business and
much more without fear being suddenly ripped away from their families.
Immigrants and community members deserve to access sensitive locations
like schools, health clinics, and courthouses without the constant threat
of arrest by ICE agents.
Sign the petition to Congress: Stop ICE raids on schools, hospitals, courthouses,
and places of worship. Pass the Protecting Sensitive Locations Act!
Keep fighting,
