President Trump recently said, “I don’t want people to get
hurt.”
But people will
get hurt if he does what he’s threatening to do.
President Trump wants to withhold billions of dollars in reimbursements
to health insurers for subsidies that help families afford coverage through
the Affordable Care Act. Without reimbursements, insurers would abandon
the marketplaces -- leaving millions of Americans uninsured.
This is President Trump’s way of sabotaging the ACA, and it’s
appalling. He can't get his own Trumpcare plan through Congress.
The people rejected it. Speaker Ryan didn’t even bring it to a vote because public opposition
to it was so strong.
So instead he'll sabotage the Affordable Care Act, risking people's
health and lives, in a misguided attempt to get his way.
We can’t let President Trump hold Americans’ health care hostage.

If President Trump were serious about reforming health care and coming
up with a plan to insure all Americans, it would be one thing. But he’s
not. Instead he's trying to bully Democrats into caving to his demands
by triggering a collapse of the ACA.
A health care bill should be a tool to improve people’s lives. People’s
lives are not a tool pass a health care bill. I promise to make sure President
Trump doesn’t treat them that way -- but I need your help.
Demand President Trump stop toying with millions of Americans’ health care.
