DON'T ROLLBACK OUR PROTECTIONS

"What can you live without?"

Dear Lucas, that's the question Scott Pruitt's EPA is currently asking Americans like you—of all the crucial public health protections, which do you think should go?

Is it the Clean Power Plan—America's first-ever national limits on the amount of dangerous carbon pollution our coal-fired power plants are allowed to pump into our air?

Or is it limits on the amount of perilous smog we have to breathe? The amount of mercury in our food? The amount of lead in our water?

We have these protections because Americans have the right to breathe clean air, to eat and drink food and water that we know are safe.

Don't let this administration take these protections away. Tell the EPA: Don't rollback our safeguards.

The truth is, President Trump’s environmental agenda is on a collision course with voters like you. A Quinnipiac University poll conducted just 73 days into his presidency shows that nearly 2 out of 3 of voters nationwide disapprove of Trump's handling of the environment—a disapproval rate ranking higher than for all other issues.

And according to a March Gallup poll, only about 1 in 10 Americans believe the United States government is doing "too much" to protect the environment, while 59 percent believe they are doing "too little."

We have the power of public opinion on our side—we just need to make sure this administration knows it.

Stand with Daily Kos and the Environmental Defense Fund. Tell the EPA: Industry does not have the right to unlimited pollution—and Americans deserve clean air, clean water, and food that is safe to eat.

Keep fighting,
Kimm Lett, Daily Kos
