Where are the women? I first asked that in 2012 when an all-male witness panel was testifying at a GOP hearing on contraception, and it became our rallying cry against the war on women. Well, five years later I am asking that question again as extremely harmful, anti-women policies are pushed with no women in the room.
The Republican plans to defund Planned Parenthood are cruel and alarming. Their attempts to roll back women’s constitutional rights to abortion are authoritarian and oppressive.
If there were women in the room when Republicans drafted up draconian, anti-health bills, do you think they would ever reach the debate floor? No.
I am doing everything I can to protect women’s health and our rights. That’s why I’ve reintroduced the Equal Rights Amendment to finally ensure that women and the promise of equal rights for all are written into the Constitution.
But I need you fighting with me.
