KEEP FEARLESS!

Join Rep. Maloney and a Bipartisan Group of Prominent New Yorkers to Keep Fearless Girl

Join Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney on the steps of New York City Hall on Monday, March 27 to call on the City to make the statue a permanent installation on Wall Street. Congresswoman Maloney will also be honoring Fearless Girl Artist Kristen Visbal, and State Street Global Advisors who commissioned the piece.

The Fearless Girl statue was unveiled to the public on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2017, by Wall Street firm State Street Global Advisors, who is calling on its clients to increase the number of women on their corporate boards. According to a January 2016 Government Accountability Office report that was written at Maloney’s direction, women are severely underrepresented on corporate boards, representing just 16 percent of seats in the boardroom. The study also found that even if the rate of women joining corporate boards were doubled, and women were hired at the same rate as men, it would still take at least 40 years (2056) for women to reach parity with men.
