The Department of Buildings is mandated to keep the New York City Construction Codes up to date. To this end, the Department is organizing a series of volunteer committees to develop and review revisions to the 2014 New York City Construction Codes. It is also the intention of the Department to develop a new code that specifically addresses alterations to existing buildings (the Existing Building Code), and also to submit a draft of the existing Building Code to the Construction Codes Committees for their review during this revision cycle.

If you wish to participate on a Construction Codes Revision Committee, please submit a completed and signed application, including any required attachments, to the Department by March 30, 2017.
