Lucas, huge news in the fight to save Obamacare, from the Washington Post. A House Republican who no one expected just came out against the repeal bill:
--An alarm bell for GOP leadership: Rep. Rob Wittman (R-Va.) is exactly the kind of mainstream conservative whose support House Speaker Paul Ryan needs to secure passage of his pending legislation. After reading the CBO report last night, he came out against the plan. "It is clear that this bill is not consistent with the repeal and replace principles for which I stand," the five-term congressman wrote on Facebook. "I do not think this bill will do what is necessary for the short and long-term best interests of Virginians."
This puts the number of Republicans opposing the repeal bill
up to 10, and we only need 21 to stop it. Further, if Republicans like Rob Whittman
are bailing, there have got to be *a lot* more votes out there that we
can swing.
This is our big chance to stop Obamacare repeal. Whether you are represented
by a Democrat or a Republican, please get on the phones and make it happen.
