Lucas, here's a stunning fact: Republicans have total control of 25
state governments—that is the governorship and majorities in both
houses of the legislature. Democrats have total control of just six, and
that could shrink to
five thanks a special election in Delaware.
Why is this important? With Republican control of the federal government—and
Trump using that power to push through an extreme right-wing agenda cooked
up by white supremacist Steve Bannon—Democrats need to keep and
expand what little power they have at the state level if they're to
successfully resist Trump.
Can you chip in $5 to Democrat Stephanie Hansen to keep Delaware blue?
Democrats control the governorship and the state House in Delaware already.
They had an 11-10 majority in the state Senate, but a vacancy there has
left the Senate tied 10-10 and a special election will determine the new majority.
Democratic state governments are already leading the charge against Trump,
and that's why Daily Kos is endorsing Democrat Stephanie Hansen, a
former president of the New Castle County Council.
Please chip in $5 to Democrat Stephanie Hansen now.
Keep fighting,
Michael Langenmayr, Daily Kos
