Lucas A. --
Since I took office in 2014 I have been proud to stand with you in the fight to make our community and our city a more fair, prosperous, and livable place for every New Yorker. The election of Donald Trump has made this work more urgent and necessary than ever.
In the early months of the Trump presidency I’ve protested with fast food workers to fight for a national $15 minimum wage; I’ve rallied with immigrant workers in Queens; and I’ve stood on the steps of City Hall with hundreds of tenants, to let President Trump know that public housing needs greater investment, not a $35 million cut. But we need to do more than just play defense in the Trump era. We need to score wins for economic and social justice. I’m proud to have done just that, with the historic announcement in February of an agreement to enact my legislation making NYC the first place in America to guarantee universal access to counsel for tenants facing eviction.
Now I am asking for your help so that I can continue fighting on behalf of our district and our values for the next four years.
Please join me at the volunteer kickoff event for my reelection campaign At the Wallace on Wednesday, May 17th at 6:00 pm. Come join our team for drinks, bar fare, and a myriad of opportunities to get involved! Please RSVP here.
