Friends,
I want to wish a happy and peaceful Passover to all who celebrate this
meaningful holiday.
Passover marks the time of year when we remember the pain and struggle
that the Jewish people endured as slaves in Egypt under Pharaoh. But perhaps,
more importantly, this is a time when we also remember the resilience
of the Jewish people in their decades-long quest for a home that was free
from slavery and oppression.
Sadly, today, there are still millions of people and children throughout
the world who are seeking that same home like the Jews did so many centuries
ago. Innocent victims of war, hatred, and violence who are simply seeking
a safe place to call home.
So let this holiday serve as a reminder to all of us that slavery, oppression,
and the search for a place of acceptance are still ugly truths that too
many experience. Let us remember that each of us play a role in ensuring
that these people can find a better life and a safer home, free from any hatred.
A Zissen Pesach and Chag Sameach!
Sincerely,
Letitia James
