Friends,
Fifteen years ago, our world as we knew it changed.
As New Yorkers, we all have our personal pain and tragedy from September
11, 2001. We will never forget the loved ones we lost—children,
brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, grandparents, husbands, wives, and friends.
And we will never stop recognizing our heroes—the firefighters,
police officers, first responders, and everyday people who ran into the
face of fire with unrivaled bravery to save lives.
Together, as a City, we are healing wounds that we never thought would heal.
Every day, we are moving forward and onward, but we will never forget.
Sincerely,
New York City Public Advocate
