Lucas -- I’m busting my tail across the country because we will not
-- and cannot -- allow the Republicans to keep control of the Senate.
That became especially clear after the Senate Republicans stood by Donald
Trump -- despite every sexist, racist, hateful thing that he has said.
I guess there was nothing that mattered to them except that he carries
the Republican flag.
This election isn’t just about the Presidency and Senate control
anymore. It’s a fundamental question about our values -- who we
are as a people, and what kind of country we want to be. It’s about
whether we will stand up and say that we are better than this.
I’ve made my choice, and that’s why I’m doing everything
I can to help the DSCC elect strong, principled Senate Democrats who will
protect our progress. But I can’t do it alone Lucas, so can I count
on you to join me today?
We have just 8 days left to elect a Democratic Senate, and everything
we’re fighting for is on the line in each critical swing state.
I know because I’ve been in Wisconsin with Russ Feingold, who is
ready to take on the powerful interests. I’ve been in Pennsylvania
with Katie McGinty, who is eager to raise the minimum wage. And I’ve
been in Illinois with Tammy Duckworth, who’s leading the charge
for equal pay for equal work. And Nevada. And Missouri. And North Carolina.
And New Hampshire -- shoot, you know the list!
We have a great opportunity, but if we don’t give everything we’ve
got to take back the Senate, we’ll spend another two years on defense
-- and unable to get good nominees confirmed by the Senate.
