Happy Mother's Day!
My own mother, Constance Wright, is an incredible woman. She used her
compassion and intellect to give back to the community through public
education and inspired me to serve my community. Even after retiring as
a New York City public school principal, my mother continued to be involved
in the neighborhood.
She also taught me the value of hard work. When I was in school she told
me to always get through the hardest homework first. I've carried
that work ethic with me throughout school and into my career. My mom taught
me not to be afraid of difficult things but to tackle them, head on, and
work for what I want to accomplish. Thanks for always setting a great
example, Mom - I'm proud to follow in your footsteps of serving our
community!
Today we celebrate the strong and inspiring women who helped shape our
lives. I'd like to wish a very happy Mother's Day to all the moms
working hard, every day!
