Lucas,
Sometimes the true meaning of Memorial Day can get lost amidst the barbecues,
picnics, and anticipation of summer, but it’s important that we
remember the real purpose of this holiday. Memorial Day honors those who
gave their lives and shed their blood to protect our freedoms.
We must not forget their heroism.
So many brave men and women have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country,
and I join all Americans in thanking these veterans for their service.
No matter your political views, we can all agree that our veterans deserve
the best healthcare. As the Ranking Member on the House Veterans'
Affairs Subcommittee on Health, I continue to work to make sure our veterans
receive the quality and timely care they have earned and deserve.
Whatever you are doing this holiday, I hope you’ll join me in honoring
the memory of fallen service members from Ventura County and all around
the country today and every day. These veterans and their families have
made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedoms all Americans cherish.
