The 2016 Root/Stimson Award | Last Call for Nominations
Sponsored by the New York State Bar Association's Committee on Annual Award
As part of its commitment to educate the public about the value lawyers bring to their community, the New York State Bar Association, through its Committee on Annual Award, presents the Root/Stimson Award to a lawyer who has demonstrated a significant, positive impact in the community, state or nation that is unrelated to the practice of law.
WE ARE SEEKING: Nominations of lawyers who enhance the public's opinion of the legal
profession through community service which exemplifies the key qualities
the public values most about lawyers – leadership, problem solving,
legal expertise and service.
In the spirit of Elihu Root and Henry L. Stimson, for whom the award is
named, this award recognizes members of the legal profession who have
given unstintingly of their time and expertise in service to the community.
It is presented at the June meeting of the House of Delegates in Cooperstown
and one recipient is selected at the discretion of the committee.
Nominations and other supporting materials must be postmarked by Friday, May 6, 2016.
