Dear Neighbor,
Starting today, New Yorkers throughout the City can submit an application to the Peter Cooper Village -- Stuyvesant Town (PCVST) Affordable Housing Lottery.
The lottery will be conducted as part of our agreement -- which we fought so hard to deliver -- to preserve 5,000 units of affordable housing in PCVST for the next 20 years. Prospective tenants can now enter the lottery to be put on a waitlist for these affordable units.
All qualified New Yorkers should strongly consider taking advantage of this opportunity. If you are interested in entering the lottery, you can submit an application anytime between now and March 31. You can do so online at http://www.pcvstlottery.com, and paper applications can be made available to those who mail a request with a self-addressed stamped envelope to Peter Cooper Village/Stuyvesant Town, 243 5th Avenue, Box 425, New York, NY 10016.
As a result of our advocacy, current PCVST tenants who make it onto the waitlist and move into an affordable unit will not be required to pay a fee for breaking their lease, and Blackstone will pay their moving expenses.
