In the wake of the horrific tragedy in Orlando, our thoughts and prayers
are with the victims, their families, and their loved ones. But as we
have seen too many times, our thoughts and prayers are not enough.
After each mass shooting, we’re told that nothing can be done to
prevent future tragedies.
Well, I don’t accept that. We can’t tolerate inaction any longer
Join me and call on my opponent, Tom Reed, to support a common sense measure
to prevent suspected terrorists from purchasing assault rifles. It is
long past time for our do-nothing Congress to act.
As a responsible gun owner and a military veteran, I know that we can
take common sense steps to prevent guns from falling into the hands of
suspected terrorists without infringing on the rights of responsible gun
owners. But Congress has failed over and over again to pass such a simple
and obvious fix. My opponent has been instrumental in that obstruction,
making all of our communities less safe in order to serve his narrow,
partisan ideology.
