My opponent - Tea Party Congressman Tom Reed - and his GOP leaders promised
to take action and address a major national security loophole that allows
suspected terrorists to purchase a gun. But now they are walking back
their promise and saying instead that any vote to address this problem
is delayed “indefinitely.”
Another day of inaction by my opponent is another day suspected terrorists
can buy weapons in our country. This kind of political cowardice has to end.
Join with me and call on Congressman Tom Reed and his GOP leaders to make
good on their promise and vote to prevent suspected terrorists from purchasing weapons.
This is just the latest example of my opponent looking out only for himself
and his big money backers. In the wake of a horrific tragedy, he decided
to skip town rather than have an honest and much-needed debate on how
to best keep weapons out of the hands of potential terrorists. And now,
after even more shootings, he is content to let the issue go completely
unanswered.
As a gun owner, sportsman, and military veteran, I am not content with
Congressional inaction. I know that we can take common sense steps to
reduce gun violence and prevent guns from falling into the hands of suspected
terrorists without infringing on the rights of responsible gun owners.
But Congress continues to let us down, and my opponent is part of the problem.
He would rather hide behind political maneuvers than get to work fixing
this critical issue.
We deserve better.
Sign my petition and call on Congressman Tom Reed and his GOP leaders to
vote to prevent suspected terrorists from purchasing weapons. The American
people deserve this vote.
