Dear Lucas:
As you enjoy the holiday weekend, I want to express my deep appreciation
for your support in helping me secure
a very strong win in my Democratic primary this past Tuesday and for making this a very
successful fundraising quarter. I couldn't do this job without you!
As you know, we've got a lot of work ahead of us, especially when
it comes to reforming our gun laws. I was proud to spend the night on
the House floor as part of our historic sit-in for gun safety and I organized
a sit-in this past Wednesday in New York City for our National Day of Action. It's clear to me that the vast majority
of people in our country want to see common sense gun safety laws, such
as universal background checks, No-Fly/No-Buy, an Assault Weapons Ban
renewal, or my bipartisan bill to crack down on gun traffickers who funnel
guns into cities like New York and Chicago.
You can count on me to continue the fight for real gun-safety reforms
that will actually work to reduce gun violence in this country. It won't
be easy, but with your support I believe we can eventually get there.
