to expand protections for salaried workers.
Last year, Daily Kos was part of a large coalition that directed more
than 300,000 public comments calling on the Department of Labor to increase
the overtime salary threshold from $23,660 to $50,440—something
which would help over 13 million American workers.
We thought we won when the Department of Labor agreed to the rule change.
But we were wrong.
Republicans in Congress are trying to kill the new Department of Labor
rule before it ever takes effect by using an obscure tactic to run out
the clock on the Obama administration.
Daily Kos has a plan to run an emergency campaign on this issue, but we
never budgeted for something like this so early in the year and we need
to raise $10,000 right now to get it done.
