GIVE TO NYCLA!

Message from Michael McNamara, President of the NYCLA Foundation and Martha Cohen Stine, Chair of the NYCLA Foundation

Dear Friends:

As the holidays approach, the NYCLA Foundation would like to remind you to consider contributing to our Second Century Fund. Your donation supports NYCLA’s mission to protect access to justice, improve our court system, and defend judicial independence.

Membership dues are not enough to cover the costs of NYCLA’s programs and services—we rely on donors like you to continue our work in the community and maintain healthy, viable programs.

Your donation greatly impacts the success of all our programs:

  • $50 provides one hour of pro bono assistance for a low-income New Yorker with a legal issue for which they cannot afford legal counsel.
  • $250 helps support a lawyer working with NYCLA’s Veterans Discharge Upgrade Project, which assists qualified veterans suffering from undiagnosed PTSD and other injuries in upgrading less-than-Honorable discharges, increasing access to benefits.
  • $500 helps underwrite the top award in our annual public high school essay contest, which encourages young New Yorkers to take a stance on issues of justice and become active members of their communities.
  • $1,000 helps provide a stipend for a law student of color through the Minority Judicial Internship Program (MJIP). The program places minority law students in internships with federal or state court judges, promoting diversity in the legal community.

Your donations also help protect and enhance our landmark Home of Law in downtown Manhattan.

Don’t miss the chance to give a gift to NYCLA in 2016!
