While every other federal judge is required to follow a strict code of
conduct, Supreme Court justices are not bound by the same ethical restrictions.
That's why we've seen
Supreme Court justices participate in political functions, attend political fundraisers, and fail to disclose
conflicts of interest.
No ethical standards apply.
You and I know that for justice to truly be fair all judges must abide
by a transparent code of conduct.

We have the right to know our Supreme Court justices cannot be bought,
sold or influenced by special interests and outside political factions.
That’s why I’ve introduced the
Supreme Court Ethics Act in Congress. It’s time to put an end to the highly questionable activities
of some of our Supreme Court justices—activities that have been
well documented and widely reported.

It doesn’t make sense that the justices of the Supreme Court are
the only federal judges in America exempt from the code of conduct. For
the sake of our democracy, we must be able to trust our Supreme Court justices.
